When Mom was diagnosed in June I hopped right on the Relay for Life bandwagon. I have always respected and admired people who Relayed but I never really felt like I should be there relaying without someone to relay for; after the event I realized just how shallow that state of mind was. You can relay to support the cause without supporting a specific person. As Keri and I walked around the luminary lit track we counted 8 or more people we each knew that have battled cancer. It would be difficult now, to find someone you know who hasn’t met anyone with cancer.
I am excited to announce the dates for the 2010 Relay for life! Before I get too excited I should mention that this is specific to the Highline Relay for life, not the Federal Way one that I participated in last year. I wanted to do Highline last year, but it was over by the time I signed up.
So this year, Highline’s relay for life is on June 12th – June 13th!
Relay for life 2009 was a life enhancing experience for me. I can only anticipate 2010 will be just as wonderful! I am excited to start on fundraising and planning.
I hope you’ll consider joining the team and walking with us! Please let me know if you’d like to clear your calendar that weekend and be there! I would love to get a few people signed up so I’m able to register our team… $10 registration fee.
