Rewards

I want to start out with a report on Mom. She’s feeling much better than she has been in the last week or so. She was able to eat a little Turkey for Turkey day and has been helping Kathy pack up their place, and sounds like the effects of the last Chemo are starting to wear off, which is good because they’ve overstayed their welcome this time. She got the boxes of hats in the mail on Friday and called me to tell me that it was pretty overwhelming to get them all and thanks to all of you over and over again.
We’re keepin’ on the sunny side! Hopefully we’ll get some CAT Scan Results soon.

I got an e-mail last week that I had earned reward points from the fundraising that I did for Relay for Life this year! I got 130 points from the $280 dollars that I raised and I could “spend” the points on one of three items; a purple hat that said RELAY in big white letters on the front, a little speaker to connect to my I*pod to listen to while I walk, or a Tote bag.
I thought for a few short moments on my choices but really what do I need more than another bag? {*ahem… no comment from my Husband please*}
So, I submitted my points for a very colorful Relay tote bag.
I patiently waited every day hoping my tote would show up at my desk (as I had it sent to work) every day that elapsed, I forgot about the bag a little more.
After mail was delivered today, I thought to myself, I should probably check on the tote on the Relay website sometime this week.
Then alas when I returned to my desk to check my e-mail there was the package sitting on my desk! I was so elated I quickly took pictures of the contents so I could post them here!
I received my very colorful (somewhat homely) tote bag, that I will use very proudly, and a card “from” the founder of Relay and a silver lapel pin that’s currently pushed into my tack board on my desk (I will wear it during Relay month, and Lung & Breast cancer awareness month next year).
So, as you can see, good deeds don’t go unrecognized, or unrewarded.Yay for Relay!

Additional Relay news: Brenda, Kathy & Mom are going to fly out this year and have been starting to plan their trip! Our team is 5 strong… You want to join! I know you do!
